LET'S LOUNGE: THE SILK PJs

It's no surprise when I couldn't help myself but extend my silk collection to my sleepwear as well. GRANA has the best matching silk loungewear anyone can ever dream of, and well I can foresee myself having a whole drawer full of silk PJs. Also, wearing an eye mask to sleep is essential for me. I've been wearing one since I was 13 and trust me, I sleep sooo much better with it. I love bringing my eye mask when I travel, it's perfect for long flights – it's like a do not disturb sign, just that it's on your face. This set of PJs are definitely coming with me on every destination I have set out for this year, because comfort is key am I right? #yes! If you're convinced that this set of divine PJs belong in your wardrobe, scroll down for the code!

FIND WONDER.

And here we are again, closing up another chapter whilst opening another one altogether. I'm not gonna lie, it has been a truly amazing year for me. I remember stating in last year's post that 2015 was more of a continuation into 2016 and indeed, it felt just like that. I will not be doing a photo timeline here (on Instagram Stories instead) this year, but let's take a walk down memory lane together.
January- February: Bangkok - Chiangmai - Bangkok | March - April: USA | May: Cebu, Phillipines | June: Bangkok | July: Guangzhou, China | August: Batam | September: Vietnam | October: Batam
I've never travelled so much within a span of 10 months but I loved every moment of it. 2017 is going to be nothing short of amazing - new projects, clearer goals and exciting travels.

These are the best parts of my #2016.
-My relationship with Dan has grown stronger than ever.
-My eldest sister Amanda, got married in the States, and I had the honour of being one of her bridesmaids.
- I got to snowboard with Dan and my family for the first time.
- I've travelled to beautiful cities with amazing friends.
- I've lost some friends but I feel lighter and happier.
- I have my dream room to work and create in.
- I've had the best ever Birthday and Christmas celebrations with loved ones whom I hold so dear to my heart.
- Knowing that there is no greater power in the Universe than the power of love.
In summary, I hope 2017 will be a kind and fulfilling year for all of you reading this. Remember, make space for what matters and you have to do what you dream of doing even while you're afraid 💫

FROM BATAM WITH LOVE,

As some of you may already know, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Nongsa Point Marina and Resort, Batam. It was one of the projects I was working on and the getaway was nothing short of amazing. From the best company to a private sunset cruise, I was truly on cloud 9. After checking into our rooms (Deluxe Beach Front room + the Garden View room), we could not wait to begin our journey to ultimate relaxation.

ABOUT MORNINGS.
We've all been there, guilty of hitting that snooze button again and again till its way past breakfast time. There's nothing wrong with that, just don't forget that breakfast is the most important meal of the day! I use to sleep into breakfast all the time, oops guilty as charged. But when you're up all night catching up on Game of Thrones and Stranger Things... it's hard to get up. I've been pinning all sorts of yummy breakfast recipes on Pinterest lately. Yet another activity that keeps me up all night, hmm. But what I'm trying to say is, getting up early feels amazing. The day feels longer and there's more time to check things off your to-do list. Be it 15 or 30 minutes earlier than your usual alarm, it's a start! Keep going ✨ Dan and I filmed our morning together, you can watch it here!

A DAY IN.

Having a day to ourselves might just be what we need after a long hectic week. Here are 2 simple ways you can spend all day in your pjs and still be productive! After making your morning coffee (or hot chocolate for me), you can either start with tidying up your vanity table top or tidying your closet!

S A V I N G

And with that, it is already May. What better way to start saving money (that we never actually did) than now? Being quite the spendthrift, there were days where I stared at my bank account balance with a dry throat. But gone are the days where painful scrimping went full force. Here are some tips on how I save my money!

CITY OF LOVE

Hello San Francisco, the city of love and lights. The feeling I get every time I visit San Francisco is indescribable; the quaint streets, the chowders, the piers, oh I would love to live in this city if I could. I was in luck when I visited the Golden Gate Bridge as there was no fog at all. For the past 6 times I've visited the bridge, it was more of a view of the fog... Being in SF with my sisters and enjoying every bit of this city together, was just what I needed after not seeing them for almost 2 years. I will definitely be back again to explore more and create newer memories (like standing in the cold for the sunset until our noses turn red)..

FRESH
First post of 2016!
Funny how the brain works. People usually get inspired only on the last days of the year, and start scribbling endless "new year resolutions" (let's be honest, all will be forgotten in probably a month or two). I used to be like that and I didn't realise it became a yearly bad habit.
The end of 2015 was really different for me this time, I didn't feel like the year was ending, it felt more of a continuation. For once, I did not create unrealistic goals and I only cleared out on my bedroom 2 days after 2016 began. I mean you don't need a date to remind you what to do. Do as you wish, on whatever date you like. Don't hop onto the "New Year, New Me" bandwagon. You can be a "new you" at any point of time, why wait till the first day of every year? Or you could simply just, be yourself.
I also started to find out what I truly wanted in life. It has never been clearer and I am working on making it happen. It may take me months or even years to achieve it, but if I don't start now, I'll never get it. Of course, I'll take in and learn whatever that comes my way during the journey and know that not everything is about the destination.
I wish everyone a very positive and bright 2016! Remember, good vibes only.

USA 2014 | Photo by me
Found myself dreaming about different parts of the world, falling in love with cities I've never been to. I definitely want to visit Russia, Turkey, Germany, China and probably South America. Getting lost in another country and its culture, enjoying the different kinds of food, picking up phrases in different languages... yes please! We are only young once, never let your spark die out. Go out there, do what you love, don't let anyone stop you from doing what you're passionate about. Be it travelling, cooking, photographing and heck even taking a day to rest at home, just do it. Don't wait, time is so precious, make every minute count. Love yourself, and make life worth while. I'll be in Seoul this October and I honestly do not know what to expect. If you guys have any tips on where to visit in Seoul, do leave a comment for me! Stay gold ✨

2015 has been very relaxing yet confusing for me so far, a whirlwind of emotions and expectations. I have a clear vision of what I want that do not exactly see eye to eye with some, it takes hard work, determination and definitely time. I remember when I was travelling in Paris, the sweetest airbnb host, Monica, sat down with me for almost 2 hours and gave me advice that I can never forget. "Don't believe it's easy, even if you got it." Those are the words that stuck with me ever since. I want to share one of my favourite chapters of a book (Don't Sweat The Small Stuff), that I go back to every time. It's such an important message and this book perks me up whenever I'm feeling low or unmotivated.
"We deny parts of ourselves that we deem unacceptable rather than accepting the fact that we're all less than perfect. One of the reasons it's important to accept all aspects of yourself is that it allows you to be easier on yourself, more compassionate. When you act or feel insecure, rather than pretending to be "together," you can open to the truth and say to yourself, "I'm feeling frightened and that's okay." If you're feeling a little jealous, greedy, or angry, rather than deny or bury your feelings, you can open to them, which helps you move through them quickly and grow beyond them. When you no longer think of your negative feelings as a big deal, or as something to fear, you will no longer be frightened by them. When you open to the totality of your being you no longer have to pretend that your life is perfect, or even hope that it will be. Instead you can accept yourself as you are, right now.
When you acknowledge the less than perfect part of yourself, something magical begins to happen. Along with the negative, you'll also begin to notice the positive, the wonderful aspects of yourself that you may not have given yourself credit for, or perhaps even been aware of. You'll notice that while you may, at times, act with self-interest in mind, at other times you're incredibly selfless. Sometimes you may act insecure or frightened, but most often you are courages. While you can certainly get uptight, you can also be quite relaxed.
Opening to the totality of your being is like saying to yourself, "I may not be perfect, but I'm okay just the way I am." When negative characteristics arise you can begin to recognize them as part of a bigger picture. Rather than judging and evaluating yourself simply because you're human, see if you can treat yourself with loving-kindess and great acceptance."

MONDAY BLUES
The title of my post is actually the complete opposite of how I'm feeling right now. Feeling really grateful for all that has happened this year. Both good and bad. The good would be the 5 trips in the past 6 months, the opportunities and the people I've met. While on the other hand, applying to a design job interview only to have your designs stolen instead. Seeing the ugly side of the industry and realising that not everyone is as true as what they portray themselves to be. I took in all these as lesson learnt and it made me even stronger. I've had unconditional love and support from my loved ones and I couldn't thank them enough. Literally can't wait for the year to end so I can see my family in the States next Spring.
Shot these photos for a collaboration with Marjorie and I received countless of compliments on how great this pair of pleated pants look. I wore this pleated beauty for Her World's Street Style Awards which you can view here! It's so effortless yet chic, I couldn't help but to choose this in 2 colors. I will be featuring 2 more items that they sent to me over the next week!

GRANDEUR
They say Paris is a city where you fall in love, eat endless amounts of croissants and pastries, visit the museums and basically live the life of a parisian. When I arrived in Paris, indeed I was blown away by the architecture of every building. It is true that every corner of Paris is photogenic, no matter where you point your camera at, it's definitely an Instagram worthy snap. I indulged in hot chocolates and macarons every day and it became a guilty pleasure. Getting around was pretty easy, it was either by bus or the metro and pretty soon my purse was filled with the tickets from the transport systems. I preferred taking the bus as there was more to see rather than the metro where all you can see is darkness from it being underground. My next goal would be to travel other parts of Europe for new adventures, who's with me?

PINK AND PLEATS
Yes I'm wearing pink! And cheers to you if #01 and #02 of my 21 facts crossed your mind. Filled my closet with more pink recently so I guess you guys will be seeing more of me in that color! Have been dressing for the weather lately, it's so humid in Singapore. Just 6 more days till I get to layer up to my heart's content. So how did you guys spend your Valentine's Day? Dan and I spent our day at the beach soaking up some Vitamin D and we had MacDonald's for dinner after. No need for fancy candlelit dinners with rose petals scattered across the table or huge overpriced bouquets. Just his company itself makes me really happy. Oh and how cute is this little faux fur cross body purse? I fell in love with it ever since I received it as one of my birthday gifts. Little bags are my life and it's also a great way to carry less. Will be working on 2 more posts before I fly off. Stay with me!

Enjoy the weekend, for you lovebirds and lone rangers out there!

PAINTED PONIES
Today marks the 26th page of the 2015 book. I've been absent for awhile now because so much has happened lately. I wouldn't say I started January off on a bad note, but I did spend New Year's in bed with a bad flu plus the raspiest voice ever. I also flew to Thailand for a week and returned home knowing that my beloved grandmother didn't have much time left with us. True enough, she did pass on. I've learned so much from everything that happened and drove all the energy into better things. There's this quote that I live by and I literally swear by it. "Everything is energy and thats all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics. -Bashar" This is by far the best quote I've read in my life. We're onto the last week of January and pretty soon I'll be on a 14 hour flight ready for my next adventure. Thank you, if you've been following up on my lifestyle, outfit and travel journeys, I truly appreciate it and it inspires me to want to capture more unforgettable moments on Beverly Ville.
“And the seasons they go 'round and 'round
And the painted ponies go up and down
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game."
In the circle game."
