Mount Bromo + Kawah Ijen Guide Part I.

Hi my loves! As promised, here is part 1 of the Bromo-Ijen travel guide. I partnered with Tour Mount Bromo for their 3D2N Tour. We flew into Surabaya and our lovely guide, Daniel greeted us at the airport and we started our journey to Mount Bromo. We checked into Bromo Terrace hotel, rested till about 2am and we had to leave for Mount Bromo.

Bromo Terrace Hotel was a perfect little hotel for us. We had an amazing view in a balcony hidden at the back, and the best part was the serenity of the entire place. Breakfast was included and we opted for the Indonesian selection when we were back from our hike at Mount Bromo.

We took a 1 hour jeep ride at 2am to Mount Bromo, and waited in the cold for about 2 hours. We stood under a million stars and waited for the peak of dawn. The stars began to hide while the sun crept out from the horizon, and we were greeted by the amazing view of Mount Bromo. After taking it all in, we went back to the jeep to the base of Mount Bromo and we were off to the crater.

After taking a few photos, we went off and were greeted by our 4-legged pony friends. We switched from our jeep ride to the ponies.

The ponies took us to the base of the crater and we climbed up the stairs, the crater was gigantic and it had a thunderous sound coming from it. I kept picturing Daenerys' dragons breathing out fire but it was just my inner Game of Thrones nerd creeping out.

We took the ponies back to the jeep and that concluded our Mount Bromo journey. We headed back to Bromo Terrace to rest before the long journey to Ijen. 

Extra information: The entrance fee for Mount Bromo is IDR 330.000 on weekends/holidays and IDR 230.000 on weekdays. The pony ride is negotiable, on weekends/holidays for 2 ways it costs between IDR 175.000 to IDR 250.000 and on weekdays for 1 way it costs between IDR 100.000 to IDR 150.000. Click here for more.
